California Livin'

Yeah, the livin' is easy in California. Today was a little cloudier than we would have preferred but it was Saturday and our son Colin had scheduled a little cook-out for us and some some of his San Diego buddies, all of whom are transplants from other parts of the U.S. Hanging out in San Diego you start to wonder why the entire population of the U.S. hasn't moved here. Yeah, it's just that sweet.

Here's the official Woodie of the Ocean Beach Hotel. It's a DeSoto
from the 40s. They don't make 'em like this anymore.

Astral Wendy (known as Wailin' Wendy Wiggins when she has a blues harp in
her hand) is psyched for the Spring Harp Fest.

Hangin' with our son Colin. When you wear a Pink Floyd t-shirt, air bass is mandatory.

I made some pulled pork for the festivities.

Sweet Jenn.

This is right out of King of the Hill.

While the mens were watching charcoal ignite, Astral Wendy was
shooting the patio flora.

California Livin' at its finest.

That pork is pulled!

It was also NCAA final four and there was at least one totally rabid
UConn fan. Cole, I'm a-looking at you!

  2. Looks like a lot of similarity between California Livin' and California Dreamin'. Seems your "California dreamin' is becomin' a reality." Ah, we remember that line, don't we! (Yes; we're dating ourselves!)

    Be cool, but stay warm!

  3. @Debra: :-)

@Rob-bear: Yes we do remember. And it does date us. LOL.

  4. Sounds like a whole lot of fun. The old 1950's Morris Traveller in the UK is very similar to the old Woodie. Great classic cars, the first one I remember my Dad having when I was little too.

  5. @Tony: Fun indeed. The wood on that car is still in perfect condition. Sweet.
